6 Things You Need to Know - read below:

For existing couples that have an Engagement shoot in their package please book your date here:

1. Timing It Right: When to Book Your Perfect Pre-Wedding Photoshoot

The ideal timing to book a pre-wedding photoshoot can vary depending on several factors, including your wedding planning timeline, photographer availability, and personal preferences. Here are some general guidelines to consider:

  1. Wedding Date and Venue: Before booking your pre-wedding photoshoot, it’s essential to have your wedding date and venue secured. This information will help you plan your pre-wedding photoshoot logistics, such as selecting a theme or location that complements your wedding style.

  2. Photographer’s Schedule: Start by checking our availability as early as possible. Typically you will receive a reminder from us not long after you have booked your wedding package with us.

  3. Wedding Planning Timeline: Consider where the pre-wedding photoshoot fits into your overall wedding planning timeline. Some couples prefer to schedule it well in advance, several months or even a year before the wedding, while others choose to do it closer to the wedding date.

  4. Season and Weather: Think about the season and weather conditions you prefer for your pre-wedding photoshoot. For daylight saving times, we prefer a late afternoon start around 6pm leading into sunset. While non-daylight saving times, typicall start around 3pm

  5. Preparation Time: Booking your pre-wedding photoshoot with some lead time allows you to adequately prepare for it. You can take your time choosing outfits, props, and themes that reflect your style as a couple.

  6. Use of Photos: Consider how you plan to use the pre-wedding photos. If you intend to incorporate them into your wedding invitations, save-the-date cards, or other wedding-related materials, be sure to schedule the shoot early enough to allow for editing, printing, and distribution.

  7. Travel and Location: If you plan to have a destination pre-wedding photoshoot or shoot at a specific location that requires travel or permits, factor in additional time for coordination and planning.

2. The Joys of a Pre-Wedding Photoshoot

Get ready for some serious engagement bliss and picture-perfect moments! Why not make the most of this special time by doing a pre-wedding photoshoot?

Not only will you have stunning snaps for your announcements, save-the-date, and invitations, but you’ll also get to put any camera shyness to bed. Plus, it’s a chance to get to know how we approach the day and make sure we know your vision and story.

And, if you’re feeling extra fancy, you could even do your wedding makeup and hair trial during the photoshoot to ensure you’re looking your best on the big day. Overall, a pre-wedding photoshoot is a fun way to take a break from wedding planning and let your creativity shine as a couple.

3. Let's Get Creative with a Concept

Are you ready to get creative? A concept or theme for your pre-wedding photoshoot is a must-have! Not only will it help us understand your vision, but it’ll also guide the choice of venues and outfits.

For example, if you’re feeling fancy and formal, perhaps a photoshoot around Sydney CBD or Royal Botanical Gardens would be perfect. But if you’re looking for something more casual and laid-back, a beach or park might be the way to go.

You can even choose a place where you first met or where you got proposed or activities that reflect your personality as a couple, such as a beachside picnic.

And don’t forget to let us know what you have in mind. We love getting involved in the planning and can offer guidance, art direction, styling advice, and recommendations on logistics to make sure your concept is executed to perfection.

So, let’s get creative and make your pre-wedding photoshoot one to remember!

4. Dress to Impress and Express

It’s time to get fashion-forward, folks! Choosing the right outfits for your pre-wedding photoshoot is all about showing off your personalities and telling your story through the photographs. The key is to find something that ties in nicely with the concept of the photoshoot and is perfect for the season and weather.

For example, a flowy dress with a wide-brim sunhat and sandals would be perfect for a summer beach session, while a sleek camisole dress paired with strapped heels would be great for a city session with a modern vibe. And if you want to infuse your cultural roots, why not wear traditional clothing?

Depending on the length of your session, you may be able to fit in two different outfits – one formal and one casual – so you can switch it up. If you’re unsure what to wear, just chat with your photographer. And remember, layering is your friend, especially if you’re shooting in colder weather. Textures like linen, lace, silk, tulle, velvet and wool add depth and interest to your images, and colors that complement your partner’s outfits and make you stand out from the background are the way to go.

So let’s make sure the images are timeless, refined, and beautiful.

5. Pack the Essentials

Pack your bags, folks! It’s photoshoot day and you don’t want to forget a thing.

Our top tip is to grab a cute little bag and fill it with all the essentials. Bring a bottle of water to keep you hydrated, a shawl in case it gets chilly, a pair of comfy flats for the ladies if you’re rocking heels during the shoot, and all the makeup touch-ups you might need.

And gents, don’t forget to tuck away those wallets and phones so they don’t ruin your shots. Trust me, you’ll be glad you did!

6. Cherish the Memories

And just like that, the photoshoot is a wrap! But the fun doesn’t have to end there. Share your favorite shots with us so we can keep your style in mind.

Once you get the gallery (usually 2-3 weeks after the session), our pro tip is to print out your photos. Holding them in your hands and seeing them on your walls will give you an experience that digital just can’t match. Plus, they’ll be a beautiful addition to your new home and a tangible reminder of this special time in your relationship.
